Seychelles is part of the 6th edition of the First Global Robotic Challenge

Seychelles is among 180 countries participating in the First Global Robotic Challenge in Geneva from the 12th to the 16th of October, 2022. In last year’s competition, the Seychelles Team came back with five medals, three gold, one silver, and one bronze. The team is very excited and ready and they are aiming to improve their performance this year.

During their sending-off ceremony, Jaeden Ernesta from Anse Royale Secondary school thanked the Division of Science, Technology, and Innovation for the opportunity and was thankful to Mr. Estico and the other team mentors for their support as they were preparing for this competition. The team appreciated the Plaisance Secondary School which assisted them with the required space to test their robots.

Jaeden on behalf of the team thanked Minister Devika Vidot for supporting this cause and politely asked Mr. Estico from DSTI and his team to organize more similar challenges and that more STEM programs will be initiated in the future.

‘It is a chance to groom youngsters to not only develop a love for robotics but also to help them develop solutions for problems the world is facing’ said Mr. Estico encouragingly.
