Team Seychelles received the kits for the 6th FIRST Global Challenge 2022.

First.global stated that “…the challenges we face as a global society need to be solved, and the next generation can meet the task — together.‘

Seychelles is among the 180 countries participating in this years’ FIRST Global Challenge. The 6th FIRST Global Challenge will be held in Geneva from the 13th to the 16th of October and the participants are boys and girls from different schools in Seychelles. Including Mikhail, Seychelles’ team captain, and Rohan the robotic designer, who were selected because of their experience and knowledge from the previous competitions.

On the 11th of August, 2022, in the presence of the Director General of the Division of Science, Technology, and Innovation Mr. Xavier Estico, and the STEM vice chairperson – Mr. Donald Estico, the robotic kit was presented to the team leader by the Principal Research Officer for Innovation, Mr. Joseph Raj from DSTI of the Ministry of Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry (MIEI).

The first electronic submission for the challenge is by September 15, 2022. The finalists will be announced on October 1, 2022. The presentations, judging and award presentations will be held from October 13-16, 2022.
